Authors were asked for "his or her own contribution", I would interpret that as their own 5% in your example.

Always nice to see data confirming what we all supect. This small survey (10 papers) showed that authors over-estimate their own contribution to papers. The total sum of contributions came to 167%! When authors were reminded to be realistic it was 133%.

Overly clever paper titles often catch me out, in this case I thought soil scientists = immovable objects, which can be the case! 😄 This review explains that soil factors complicate future plant distribution models only based on climate envelopes.
