This decision is based on the fact that the courts have started issuing eviction notices. Per state statute we must serve civil orders issued by the court: https://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/deliverdocument.asp?id=94862&hits= …

Please, if you are set for an eviction court hearing, please attend and let the judge know your circumstances. The judge is the only person who determines your case.

There is no such thing as a "compassionate & respectful" eviction.

Just one example of your lack of any sort of leadership
@GovStitt. Anyone who lost a job during this time should have been guaranteed their basic need for a home would be protected, but poor people aren’t your concern, are they? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Just by doing this you are showing that you have no compassion. Put a moratorium on rent. You’re telling people to choose between death and death. Forcing people to work during a pandemic. Use that smooth brain of yours.

The Sheriff's Office doesn't have the authority to put a moratorium on rent. If renters are set for an eviction hearing they should attend, only a judge can determine what will happen. This isn't something we take lightly, but by law must do.
