The purpose of my countrywide tour was to familiarise myself with all aspects of army operations as well as staff conditions of service. I am pleased that the budget allocated to BDF is well spent & I commit to keeping them as ready as any army. 🇧🇼

Since the base is home to a SADC standby contingent, I would consider sending troops on peace keeping missions in the region. I however assured the troops that we would not purposely put them in harm’s way by deploying them in exceptionally volatile conflict zones.

Yesterday I had the honour & pleasure as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, of addressing the BDF staff at Glen Valley Garrison. The impressive the level of professionalism displayed by the officers during my tour of the establishment was absolutely phenomenal.
