A care home in Birmingham have built their own 'sensory street', where residents can purchase sweets, visit a post office, and relax at a tea room. The street aims to encourage memory sharing - we love this! 💙

Dad has dementia. Sometimes he drifts into another world and I feel like I’m losing him. He is never more present, however, than when he plays the piano. He came to mine today and I asked him to play one of his compositions. He thought he wouldn’t be able to remember it.

‘My parents taught me when I was growing up – ‘treat others as you wish to be treated.”’ Jacqueline manages a care home where many of the residents are living with dementia. She wrote this poem to inspire her staff to think about the people they care for, not just the condition.
