The is right to be angry with over its "green corridor" nonsense. "Offsetting" massive infrastructure projects like this cannot replace what is destroyed. So let's protect and enhance what we already have πŸ’š

As a young person I think this express way is detrimental to wildlife, as well as businesses and farmers.. the preferred route is the worst route

Presumably this Β£700M is just preparation work for moving equipment reqd to build the 'Ox Cam Expressway' i.e. 6 lane motorway from M4 (Chieveley) to M40 to M1 at MK to M11 at Cambridge and to build 1M houses on hundreds of square miles of greenfields.

Tax incentives to encourage people to work closer to home or vice versa? More affordable/available public transport options? Safer cycling infrastructure? Just pondering

As well as considering wildlife and views of local people, these planners need to take account of the and - find ways to reduce the amount of traffic so there's no need for another road to add to our C02 and air pollution miseries.

This is a sign of a broken planning system. We need a full, open and public consultation to ensure local wildlife and the views of local people are not overlooked. BBC News - Oxford to Cambridge 'brain belt': Councils sign gagging orders

Rather than continuing to spend millions working up the detail of the unpopular Expressway, the Government should look seriously at diverting that money into better railways, public transport and cycle infrastructure. Read my column πŸ‘‡

This drought is still continuing. It is now worse. This is now. This could be anyone's water supply in the next few years if we don't all, each one of us, take action to try to slow climate change down. Don't blame everyone else, do something yourself.

Very interesting report. Particularly the 40% water deficit for London & SE. So where will the water supply come from for the 1mill houses to be built with the OxCamExpressway? in case of interest. Cheers

Agree! πŸ‘ Can you have a word with at please? She says "work with the system or suffer the consequences". Challenging a system that is broken doesn't seem to have occurred to her.
