Sheriff's deputies in Brooks County, Texas recovered the bodies and remains of 129 migrants in 2012. That was just 1 year. They saved their photos in a binder and buried the unclaimed in what became a mass grave. These horrors are not new, just forgotten

And lets not confuse things, plz. The number of Northern Triangle migrants and asylum seekers at the border is much, much greater than Venezuelans. Most of these Cent Am crossers claim fear as defense against deportation, though many dont file for asylum once released with NTA

Right. Most Venezuelans are leaving on foot via Colombia and Brazil, not flying into Miami and hiring immigration lawyers to file for affirmative asylum.

Venezuelans are typically applying through the *affirmative* asylum process, often after a legal entry with visa. Most Central American applicants are going through the *defensive* asylum process to halt removal proceedings (deportation). Apples & oranges
