If your child is sent home from school due to showing Covid-19 symptoms, they must self-isolate. That means they should stay in the house for 10 days and you should arrange a test for them. It also means that everyone in your household must self-isolate too.

You can only leave the Newport area if you have a “reasonable excuse” to do so – including going to work where you cannot work from home, or using public services that are not available locally. Stay in the area as much as possible. see
