Be still my heart. Gopher tortoises are a keystone species. They dig massive burrows (over 6 feet deep and up to 40 feet long), which are used by over 350 different species for shelter. This baby tortoise is about 4 months old.

"Maybe now, when the myth of human exceptionalism has proven illusory, we will listen to intelligences other than our own, to kin. To get there, we may all need a new language to help us honor & be open to the beings who will teach us." Robin Wall Kimmerer

Happening around us, now. Take notice. Standing up for our planet requires us to fall many times & to keep rising. Not only is nature our life support, it is our inspiration, the centre of us all. One of our most essential & beautiful connections.
