A huge thank you to all the mining pools, exchanges, explorers, ElectrumX server operators, other service providers, and average users who helped make the Namecoin softfork a success.

Softfork was successful. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are investigating the causes of the network disruption that was observed shortly after activation, but users of SPV and Namecoin Core below 0.18.0 are clear to register names and accept incoming payments.

Current status: Namecoin network conditions appear stable at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation, and we plan to give the all clear tomorrow if nothing unexpected occurs.

Update: Network conditions are continuing to stabilize, but we are still not ready to give the all clear yet. Users of SPV or Namecoin Core below 0.18.0 may wish to continue waiting for us to give the all clear before registering new names or accepting incoming payments.

Update: A large portion of the network disruption appears to be resolved. Network conditions are stabilizing, but out of abundance of caution, we are NOT giving the all clear yet. Users of SPV or Namecoin Core below 0.18.0 may wish to continue waiting for the all clear.

We're monitoring some network disruption in the wake of the softfork today. Out of abundance of caution, if you use an SPV client or a full node earlier than Namecoin Core 0.18.0, you may want to avoid registering names or accepting incoming payments until we give the all clear.
