Who are you telling. To every elected and appointed hiding in silence - we see you. Black people are being slaughtered. We are the same Black people that are your members, constituents & clients. Where are your letters of outrage, press releases, and social media swarms now? 👀👀

As we mourn 100,000 Americans, two points: 1. This is an undercount. Excess death statistics suggest the toll is about 125,000. 2. Where leaders (in CA and WA, Taiwan, Kerala) responded urgently, crisis was avoided. What killed 100k Americans wasn't just the virus, but bungling.

I’ve repeated ad nauseam that people who use my religion to wreak havoc and destruction don’t represent my values, it’s just the handy banner they appropriate to unite and recruit. Here we see a movie flop and tacky fabric pattern transformed into a call for civil war.

For all those who didn’t get it the first time, the second time, the 20th time...this is not a political issue — it’s a civil rights and human rights issue.

Black people are three times more likely to be killed by police than white people. Black people have contracted COVID-19 at rates that far outpace their populations in the U.S. Racism is a public health issue. It’s killing us.

I’ve stared at this screen wondering what to say. Words fail. How do you even begin to thank a person who fought their entire adult life for your humanity, your dignity and your right to live? Thank you, Larry Kramer. Rest now.
