Thanks to the Soay Sheep Project for showing the erosion at the cliff. This structure was excavated 25 years ago by Robin Turner, thank goodness!. It's a bit uncertain but probably a platform for drying peat

The glasshouse in our garden is a 1985 reconstruction of an 1890's original which was specifically designed and built for Falkland by Mackenzie and Moncur of Edinburgh. They were, at the time, one of the leading firms of glasshouse and heating engineers in all of Britain.
