Here in NY, our Uber driver members won employee status for the purposes of Unemployment Insurance benefits. Uber & Handy are trying to make sure workers can't win those rights anywhere else. These Giglords want to return us to a time of sweated labor.

This is exactly right. Uber is not an app, it is an abusive business model. They frame it as future vs. past when in fact Uber is a business model built on ridiculous leverage, predation, and extracting as much as possible from drivers. New apps can work along w fair treatment.

We should all stand with . That ALSO means demanding your state AG investigate predatory use of wall street cash. That means insisting on anti-monopoly provisions for ownership so that drivers have negotiating power, and passing state laws against predation.
