I want to be clear, this is about a virus, not a group of people. There is NO excuse for anyone to discriminate or stigmatize people of Asian heritage. We are here today to urge all New Yorkers to continue to live their lives as usual.
This is why the news needs to stop saying the ethnicity of the person. Or how about promoting to get all of your vaccines if your health allows. Having measles outbreaks is horrid.
You know that many South and Central Americans eat rodents, too, right? As well as some rural U.S. people? Just different types of rodents.

This is not about discrimination it is about safety. China should have shut down their airports when they knew about outbreak. Chinese communities in NY have been wearing masks and taking precautions y is it discrimination when others do the same
I agree. However I also think we should hold countries accountable to tell the truth about something like this when it’s starting out. Not when there are 14,000 cases. The Chinese government needs to be forthcoming and honest when it comes to global health being at risk.
