Just a quick reminder, the Dyess radar site (KDYX) will be down for routine maintenance from July 15th-19th. This maintenance will help extend the life expectancy of the radar.

Just like any other piece of machinery, NWS radars need tune-ups once in a while, too! 🛠️ The Dyess radar (KDYS) will be offline for some routine maintenance (July 15-19) when the weather is expected to be hot and mostly dry. Have a good weekend, highs in the mid 90s!

Sunny and warm today with highs in the mid 90s. Can't rule out an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon mainly south of a line from Sterling City to Brownwood. Sunny and warm this weekend.

The Sutton S.O. reported large hail north of Sonora from the fire department that was sent out for a fire. This was about 747 PM, just after the severe warning for Sutton county went out. While it could be that fire, one can not be sure from the video.
