Excellent piece on why same Republicans who incubate white supremacy use anti-anti-Semitism as weapon: “The Republican establishment makes public statements about its superglued-to-Netanyahu foreign policy as if it inoculates them against anti-Semitism.”

A Republican I had a conversation with dismissed my concerns and said the office of the president is bigger than him, that he's also good for business. So, according to her, as long as the economy is doing well, that's all that matters and to hell with all else.

This is a perfect description of what's happening. Look at the relentless protests in Hong Kong for example. We here are facing a state of emergency and as polarized as we are, many Americans are not at all impacted by Trump and his policies or hostile rhetoric for that matter.

One would think, considering all the outrage, that the streets would be swarming day in and day out. Yet they remain deserted, with only a token demonstration here and there. Kind of telling, isn't it? There's a lot of social media outrage but little else.
