Are letters of intent required? No, submission of a letter of intent is not binding and the letter is not part of the application review. We encourage you to submit an LOI when it is requested in the FOA as it helps staff prepare for your application.

The deadline for resubmitted R21s is Nov 16. Because the deadline falls on a weekend, it slides to Monday Nov 18. Try to submit a few days early to give yourself time to address any problems!
