In 2018, the NC State Highway Patrol issued 662 citations for littering and 611 for unsecured loads. That is 1,273 citations. Be responsible and don't litter!

Next week, crews will be closing access to the south end of the Bonner Bridge as well as the catwalks attached to it as they prepare for the demolition process. Once demolition is complete, 1,000 feet of the old bridge will reopen as a public walkway:

NC12 in Frisco will be closed for 12 hours on Sunday, March 24 so that we can replace two cross pipes under the roadway. A detour will be available for 4x4 traffic only:

Here's an update on the new bridge over Oregon Inlet from our friends in Dare County. The new bridge is open, but weekday lane closures will be in effect for the next few weeks as crews make some finishing touches. Motorists should stay alert and allow for extra travel time.

Good morning. The contractor’s third and final round of debris pickup was completed 1/25/19. They have now left the area. Any additional debris collection will be by the local NCDOT units, but when this will take place, has yet to be determined.
