Transition day tomorrow and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t quaking in my boots. Praying that my year 6’s are happy that I’m their teacher for their final year of primary school!

My first teaching achievement: I have written progression documents for music for every, single year group from scratch with only the national curriculum as a reference.

I haven’t had a break from work/uni for nearly 8 months and I think my body is finally telling me it needs a break. Just 9 days left of term and then I’ll be able to rest, recover and prepare before I start my NQT year!!

Remember that children are able to travel free on the underground, so make sure you take full use of that! 😃

Yesterday was my first ever pride and I had the best time celebrating who I am with the most amazing people. I cannot wait until next year, London!

A child came up to me today and said ‘Mr Mitchell there is a bad word in the book.’ He then showed me the word, which was ‘gay’, so it provided the perfect opportunity to educate the class on the meaning of the word gay; in regards to sexuality and a sense of being carefree. 😃🏳️‍🌈

Had a conversation with a fellow teacher about London pride and she asked “so what is pride?” so I explained what pride is & how it came about. The conversation lasted for 30 discussing LGBTQ+ rights, equality etc. So important to always share the message of pride. 🏳️‍🌈

Today I was that teacher that preached to every student about wearing their suncream for sports day and then completely forgot to apply my own.
