I like going down to the river and seeing the buildings and roads of the city and then turning around and feeling like I’m deep in the wilderness.

I think my favorite part about being from Pittsburgh is that we can generally go anywhere in the country (and maybe the world) and run into someone from home. Pittsburgh is everywhere! What’s your favorite thing about Pittsburgh?

Built To Spill is just Modest Mouse for people who don’t like the whammy bar. (Also, they sound incredible tonight.)

Lawrenceville has certainly been blowing up over the last few years, but on this day in 1862, it actually, really blew up! The Allegheny Arsenal exploded causing windows to shatter all over LV. They say you could hear it 2 miles away! Today's Topic: songs that mention explosions

Ric Ocasek - leader of The Cars - has passed away at 75. The Cars are New Wave icons whose influence can be heard far and wide. Their debut album is absolute pop perfection.

This is a fascinating story about why Stevie decided to bail on David Bowie’s world tour in 1983.

Stevie Ray Vaughan feels like a larger than life mythical being. Maybe he was, in a way, but he was also a real person with a real story. knows that story well. In fact, he wrote the book on it! “Texas Flood...” is out now and Alan is joining me from 7-9 on .

Daniel Johnston was one of a kind. He showed us that we can follow our hearts no matter what hand life dealt us. I, like many other people, discovered him thanks to a t-shirt that Kurt Cobain wore. I’ll be playing a tune this morning around 9 on .
