Time for the year 10 camping trip! If I manage to get more than 2 hours of sleep a night I'll be thrilled 😂

Collaborative slow writing with my year 11s was so fascinating today - we "only" wrote three paragraphs but the depth of thought and conversation was amazing. They were even debating which punctuation to use

I could survive in History, German, Music or Drama I think. Would be discovered in Maths or science immediately

That's my plan! I already know the excuse will be "it's only the rationale" but they're not getting any feedback. If their idea is terrible, tough

My year 13s do not care about deadlines and my time. Pretty annoyed with them right now.

Pick books at random from the school library. Get them to read the first page and discuss how it opens the novel. Then pick a page at random and discuss what's changed and how the focus changes in that page

This used to happen with mine all the time! Best thing about them becoming house cats once we emigrated (although we have still ended up with 2 dead lizards somehow...)

I'm going camping for two nights with the whole of year 10 this week. I think the terror of this is just beginning to hit me!

My favourite part of this week - doing so much writing alongside my year 11s to encourage and challenge them. Today we planned a narrative to be written collaboratively next week titled 'The figure in the long, black coat'. They chose to write about a plague doctor ♥️

I started sharing books with one of my year 8 students last year - she's incredibly advanced and we have similar taste. She's kept it up this year. Her first offering is a departure from our usual fare...

My OH physically removed work from my hands at a set time every day, and when I was having near daily breakdowns told me he'd support me if I left teaching, which I did. When I chose to come back in an international role, he was a gem.
