The crux of the Guardian’s review of the British Museum’s Manga exhibit seems to be that the museum is embarrassing itself by recognizing manga as a significant evolution of Japan’s artistic tradition. Was no one who had ever enjoyed a comic available to do this?

Read Vagabond. It’s an incredible manga about the lifelong pursuit of personal fulfillment and spiritual growth.

A paid art critic failing to recognize that a reason you exhibit modern popular works is to draw in crowds to engage with and consider the other, older contents of your museum requires the feigned willful ignorance of someone working overtime to provoke hateclicks.
