Today are holding an Opposition Day Debate on Universal Credit and managed migration. Labour will create a system that supports people in time of need, that lifts people out of poverty and smooths the transition into work so that work genuinely pays.

Earlier today I spoke on about the cuts to GMP. We now have 2000 less officers across GM since 2010. As a consequence low level crime is not being investigated. You can hear me on the Chelsea at Breakfast programme here (around 2 hrs 15 mins)
