This afternoon I went into the House of Commons to hand in my members pass and office and locker keys. Whilst I was eating in Portcullis House I met several defeated Labour colleagues. I hope many of them stand again and will get back. I won’t. So it’s goodbye from me.

When I had my heart surgery 4 years ago I had several blood transfusions. So its not my blood it is the blood of our diverse multiracial British community. And thanks to the NHS and our blood donors I am still here,

Mike Gapes is a man who had the integrity to put his head above the parapet and call out the toxicity seen in the Labour Party. He and @AnnCoffey (also AMAZING) being interviewed by @mattforde is where lesson can be learnt and the ‘period of reflection’ could start.
