Being "pro life" means defending the lives of the unborn and the sick the poor the homeless the aged the mentally challenged the inmate the refugee and the person or people you hate. Being pro life means reverencing all human life. Because it's all from God.

Winston Churchill rejected Christianity. So did Abraham Lincoln. Dietrich Bonhoeffer held some decidedly non-evangelical views. All of them heroes to me and many others. But when I see them cited, I don't see anything like the vitriol directed toward Martin Luther King Jr.

If MLK was as theologically deviant as many conservative critics say, then it should provoke repentance that he got so much right concerning justice and white conservatives have gotten so much wrong.
