I think we were on to something yesterday. Andrew Chafin does look a lot like M.F. Thatherton. ()

The Braves and Indians are rained out tonight in Cleveland. They'll make up the game tomorrow afternoon.

I don't think it's very creative.

I'm not sure either. If there was a guarantee that you couldn't fall out of "MLS 2," it may be okay.

As of now, yes. They sure made it sound last night that St. Louis and Sacramento have their spots secure.

From an attendance standpoint, it's already there. Now you need to get the revenue to match. Still a long way off.

I'd cap at 32. Eventually go to 40 in a pro/rel.

In this exercise, LA and SJ could still play twice a year as the non-division "protected rival." This also allows for two Chicago-St. Louis matches. And two Montreal-New England matches, etc.

I just think divisions help you write the schedule, they don't really serve a purpose beyond that.

You could do that too.

That’s why you do what the NBA does. Division finish doesn’t matter, just take the eight best records.

I think, again, you want to play everyone at least once. How would you feel if Orlando squeaked in to the playoffs in a year where they didn't have to play LAFC and Seattle?

In this exercise, I have you playing division teams twice and everyone else once.

This will help. The expansion fee is $200 million. The league is about to get $600 million by doing this. Not to mention, almost certainly more TV money as a result of having a larger league (more matches and markets).

I like going to 38 games. I worry about not playing everyone in the league at least once. Risks an unbalanced schedule. And how would they like it in Portland if they only see Atlanta once every six or seven years?

It's coming. More playoff games = more money in the next deal.

In reality, how unbalanced is it really? You play everyone in the league once. You see only five clubs twice.
