Er yeah... hence I used it correctly the first time. But there is a thing called a character limit & sometimes, something’s gotta go.

Agreed - there appears to be quite a few problems in the procurement / contract management process.

Seriously, if you're ever bored...Take a look at some of the stuff I get sent on Twitter, on a daily basis. How on earth have so many people become SO offended by alternate views? Why the 'your either with us, or against us' mentality. Why are people telling others what to think?

That's a very fascinating statement and I am super impressed with all of the big words that you know but, um, you didn't actually answer my question...

A company can’t just stop doing business with a supplier every time there is a cash flow problem. They instead take contingency, which is what gov did by insisting on JVs. Also if you look at each warning, they came with a set of remedies that actually made sense.

There are a couple issues that make it less straight forward tho... 1. If gov didn’t go for the supplier with best price, opposition & media would have a field day. 2. The procurement process makes is difficult for SMEs to play an active part in, so supplier choices are limited.

Couple things 1. Labour also awarded contracts/selected them post profit warnings & 2. A sure fire way to help close a company is to not give them contracts when they have cash flow issues. How would that have helped the 400-odd contracts that Carillion were delivering for gov?

Welcome to my world. This is what Twitter and broader is becoming. So many people are unable to accept different views & they have a ‘you’re either with us, or against us’ mentality. They don’t have the ability to respectfully debate. They aim for ‘shut down’ instead.

I am simply saying is that whilst I don’t deny the past, I do believe times have changed. Most people do NOT see colour as an issue on any level and just see people equally.
