The term "parking spot" is a colloquialism for where the trains pull in at Union to drop customers off. 2/2 ^sm

Union Station is at capacity during rush-hour, when there are delays on one or more lines several trains can arrive at once that are usually not scheduled to arrive at that time. There are only so many platforms for them to arrive on. This causes the backlog. 1/2

Hi Cathy, sorry for not replying sooner & for the delays this AM. Trains were backed up just outside Union because earlier Barrie line delays & a medical emergency on another train caused a backlog. In other words there weren't enough parking spots for all the trains arriving ^sm

Hi David, let us add, is all about safe arrivals. We understand overshoots can be frustrating. GO makes an estimated 75,000 stops each month and realignments are relatively rare. Here’s more about what it takes to stop a train: ^mll

Hi Matthew, sorry about the delays this morning. Trains are backed up in the Union Station Rail Corridor because of earlier Barrie delays and a medical emergency on one of our trains in the station. Again, we apologize and appreciate your patience this morning. ^mll

Hi Michael, as a result of the earlier delays, our train was forced to stop again at DD for freight traffic. Again, we know this morning’s commute was frustrating and we appreciate your patience. Hope the rest of your day goes well. Take care. ^mll

We recognize this is an issue. As part of our Barrie Rail Corridor Expansion Project we are proposing to add tracks and supporting infrastructure from Lansdowne in Toronto to Allandale Waterfront in Barrie. You can read more here: ^mll … 2/2

Hi Michael, sorry about the delays this morning. Crews are onsite working to fix this unforeseen signal issue. Unfortunately, this part of the network is only single track and since trains aren’t as maneuverable as vehicles, it results in fewer options when there’s a problem. 1/2

Thanks Mazhar, and what is the coach number? It should be on the wall on either end of the car you’re sitting in. I’ll make sure our colleagues at are aware of the problem with the AC

Hi Omer, thanks for seeing something and saying something. Looping in our colleagues as well. Hopefully she can make it safely off the tracks without ruffling too many feathers. In all seriousness, thanks again for flagging this. We have passed it along. ^mll
