The fact that Tuberville is favored to win despite clearly not knowing what the Voting Rights Act even is, is an indictment of the hyperpartisanship of the modern Republican Party. The issues, principles, there's nothing. It's just mindless partisanship.

Democrats need to respond to Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney and Cory Gardner et al. trying to fill a Supreme Court vacancy that occurred after voting started by trying to stop them or, at least, making the process as difficult and costly as possible.

This means nothing if he also claims the power to determine what counts as free and fair—particularly as he's asserted (falsely) that high VBM levels make the election unfair. Read a certain way she's simply confirmed Trump won’t accept the results.

’The partisan-aligned high court will dictate to the people who their president will be’ is unacceptable dictator bullshit, and also an A1 story for everyday until they back down, not an A15 space-filling write-through for a random Thursday.

This was from June. It’s happening almost exactly as written here, and the window to change the trajectory is closing.

Don’t get played. They aren’t contradicting Trump. They’re setting an expectation that the Supreme Court (which they’ve, of course, rigged) is the normal and appropriate arbiter of who won. They’re laying rhetorical groundwork to support a procedural coup.

Yes, what McConnell means is that if the judges and justices he’s helped Trump stack the court with sign off on Trump’s vote-trashing schemes, McConnell will be thrilled and support Trump’s reinstallation.

“The question of who voters voted for would be immaterial in any kind of tampering investigation, and it seems to be in there for political reasons, to bolster the president’s arguments that the election is being rigged against him,” said , law prof at UC Irvine.

It should tell you something when right-wingers cape for murderous cops always stake their justification on some dubious claim of alleged criminal behavior that the cops themselves didn't know at the time. Basically they fashion themselves arbiters of whose life matters.

It is just beyond egregious for a US Attorney to put out a tweet like this about an ongoing investigation. All it does it generate fear, uncertainty, and doubt about mail-in ballots: which is exactly why they're doing it.

Completely incapable. That's the honest reporters. The ideologically-aligned ones are active players in stoking it all.

Don't know who needs to hear this, but the Constitution is very explicit that the congress has the authority to raise & spend money: President Trump cannot legally just spend $7 billion of OUR money to entice 33 million seniors with a $200 check to vote for him.

For a police officer to do this -- to ride his bike over an injured man's head -- shows that too many cops are out of control and feel they can act with complete impunity. And I fear that the police union will rush to say that this cop did nothing wrong.

This is your daily reminder that is a racist crook. An unindicted co-conspirator to violate campaign finance laws, he's committed "outright fraud" against the United States and routinely abuses the power of his office.
