Well, folks seem to like the best-seller lists, and now I'm down this rabbit hole and I'm inviting you to join me... someone suggested I do some all-time best-sellers list for historic consoles. It's Sunday, this week's news is going to be intense, so let's do this. Thread?

I've removed the publisher designation due to how long ago we're talking about, makes the data more difficult to work with. And... these are physical sales only because we're talking a while ago here.

Let's start with Sega Saturn, launched in May 1995. Madden NFL 97 was the best-selling game on the system, with fan favorites Nights and Panzer Dragoon also cracking the top 10.

Sony PlayStation, has a pretty fascinating list. The scale of success both Crash Bandicoot and Gran Turismo achieved is still remarkable. Metal Gear Solid also established its foundation for long term success here.

Not a lot of surprises on the N64 list, dominated by major 1st party franchises that are even more successful today. And of course, the legendary Goldeneye 007.

Let's shift over to the Game Boy Color, celebrating its 20th birthday this month. Pokemon. Lots of Pokemon.

And our final 1990s flashback system will be... the Sega Dreamcast. Launched 9-9-99. Oh, what could have been.

The best thing from the Saturn era is probably this commercial for World Series Baseball featuring the Twins' Brad Radke.

Well shockingly it's not the only Bowling game on the Virtual Boy haha. The other one, Virtual Bowling, is probably better and sells for a ridiculous ~$2k on the secondary market.
