Today marks to the day that women over the age of 30 were able to vote for the first time, and it paved the way for universal suffrage 10 years later. This campaign poster, issued by the Suffragette movement, depicts women in a range of professions denied the vote.

Manchester City Council Feb 6
Today marks 100 years since women were allowed the right to vote. Manchester will be celebrating it's proud history of the Suffragettes with a year-long programme of events, it starts with International Women's Day on 8 March.
