I’m grateful for people like you who can turn a short sentence like that into thousands of words. Clearly, thousands of words makes it look more important and credible. 😂

Let me summarise it for you in just a few words... It sucks and doesn’t work. 😂

To be fair, I think it's a lack of discipline at home and a failure to instil respect for others from the early years onwards. I don't think it's school where discipline should be learned - by then it's already too late.

And this is the the crux of it. Not everyone can be out there doing tickets - especially when the dept is effectively a road death investigation unit with little capacity for proactive work.

Do you not understand the importance of getting these things right the first time and how you can't just undo the damage done both in terms of the public's perception of the police and everyone's perception of your competence to discharge your duties professionally?

I completely agree with you Peter. But the bigger question is how are people with these character traits being promoted. Is the current system failing the service and junior ranks or is it nepotism or an unwillingness to tackle it and so promote & move the problem elsewhere?

Of course, this becomes an unintended consequence of the policy and encourages corrupt working practices.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I think it says a lot about someone's personality that they feel this is the way to manage a department and makes me wonder how they were even promoted to the rank in the first place.

There was a time where if there was more than enough on a shift for 1 car west and 1 car east, the remainder would work on response for the shift - using response vehicles not traffic cars.
