I have many opinions about top Trump-Russia conspiracy theorists & the damage they've done to journalism & politics. My most immediate concern is the massive gift that their failure gave Trump & the additional one they're wrapping for him w/ their post-Mueller Report self-denial.

There’s a side of me—the irresponsible black humor Gogol-junkie side—that relishes this new centrist Russiagate revisionism b/c it means Establishment media will continue debasing itself as grotesquely as possible. But I have a kid now & this ruling class derangement is a threat

His public statements contrast with views of majority of Ukrainians, who vote for and his popular fictional TV image of Ukrainian president, who peacefully unites , including & opposes far right and Western interference in Ukraine.

If the Russiagate hacks really believe Mueller report “vindicates” their conspiracy theories, then Louise Mensch and Seth Abramson deserve Pulitzers, and Eric Garland deserves his Twitter face on the 10 dollar bill alongside his Federalist Papers ancestor

Economic context to Ukraine's election: the IMF now ranks it as the poorest country in Europe, with GDP per capita one-fourth that of Russia and one-fifth that of Poland.

Rashomon effect in full play over Mueller report. Everyone seeing what they want to see in it. So here's my take: $40 million spent on a nebulous side issue, while eminently impeachable offenses (emoluments clause, to name just one) are ignored. Why?

Mueller didn't beat around the bush. Determined there was no collusion. Not no *criminal* collusion. Not no *prove-beyond-a-reasonable-doubt* collusion. Just no collusion.

The Mueller report destroys all key pillars of the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory. That’s why Russians post-election “appeared not to have preexisting contacts & struggled to connect with senior officials around [Trump].” Conspiracy theorists who aren’t apologizing have no shame.

They’ve have some good material, but don’t want to be marginal principled liberal opposition like Novaya; want to be part of elite power structure as loyal liberal opposition (like NTV in mid-90s). So they’re not faring so well being pushed into margins by security services

Conclusion: Monastyrskyi as Zelenskiy law enforcement man, appears to have solid command re Ukraine's far-right situation. Whatever Zelenskiy's actual stance on the topic will be, if Monastyrskyi is in charge, we can expect that policies are deliberate, well-informed(?) /END

I think Mueller is saying he doesn't know definitively that GRU stole DNC emails. Note what he does know: "Stolen documents included the DNC's opposition research into candidate Trump." But as for emails: GRU "officers *appear* to have stolen thousands of emails and attachments."
