The next couple of hours are going to be fascinating. Woodland, Koepka, Rose and maybe even Oosthuizen are in with a chance of victory. Don't do anything silly like going to bed just yet!

All credit to Brandon Sargeant coming back from 6-1 down to beat Jamie O’Neill 10-7 and claim the English Amateur Championship.

Congratulations to Brandon Sargeant, English Amateur Snooker champion 2019. He's just beaten Jamie O'Neill 10-7 in the final. Thanks also to the EASB for all the good it has done over the years. It will soon cease to exist but a new chapter is about to begin.

Streaming of the English Amateur Snooker Championship final from Sheffield between Brandon Sargeant and Jamie O'Neill can be viewed here. I'm not working on the coverage this year - sadly there's no commentary or video interviews this time around:

Congratulations to Tyson Fury, he did what he needed to do tonight. But I don't really think we learnt anything at all. I hope he's back in the ring against a better-matched opponent in the autumn.

The importance of subeditors should never be underestimated. Cutting back on them is rarely a good idea. Was Franco Zeffirelli 76, as it says in the headline, or 96, as it says in the opening paragraph? Errors like this appear on Mail Online most days.

An interesting take on the Jo Brand situation by Richard Littlejohn in his column today. Compare how the BBC stood by her to how Danny Baker was treated for his crass mistake. Also remember Brand's role in getting Carol Thatcher sacked by the BBC:

I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your former colleague. Eddie Mair is a superb interviewer - I didn't hear his show today but I'm sure he handled it appropriately.

I agree with your final sentence. The rest, well, your guess is as good as mine.

We cannot be 100% certain of exactly how many people died, either. The figure we have is a good estimate, but not a certainty by any means.

You've got a nerve. I visited the area soon after and spoke and listened to local people. I am a journalist asking serious questions about what really happened, questions that the families haven't had properly answered. I won't be lectured by an arsehole behind a pseudonym.

The sun? The fire started at around 1am.....You're speculating (aren't we all?) but it doesn't make much sense to me, and two years on there is still clearly a lot we don't know.

Agreed. I've also got the ITV/Channel 4 athletics theme of the early 1990s on my computer. Also iconic in its own way.

Oh it's certainly hugely inconvenient for the Government. We know for sure that there are still numerous buildings with dangerous cladding up and down the country. Forcing people to live in filing cabinets in the sky cannot be a good thing.

There are lots of things about the Tower fire that don't make much sense to me. Have you heard of many (any?) instances of refrigerators exploding before? No? Me neither. Therefore, are modern fridges safe? Or is some information being withheld?:

I am of the view that the Tower should be shored up, sealed off and left as a reminder of how we allowed the urban poor to live in filing cabinets in the sky in the early 21st century, that no fireman's hose or ladder could reach:

Today is the second anniversary of the Tower fire. I visited the site a few weeks after it happened - it was a moving experience I will never forget. The people are still fighting for justice. Establishments do tend to stick together in life:
