Thank you for sharing. He was a dear friend, and this helps get a semblance of closure, just knowing he was at peace. I worried that he passed in pain and alone, but his words convey otherwise.

The last DM from my dear friend was on 11 July, asking when I’d next be in Bangalore. Today I find it’s the last I’ll ever read from him. Shocked. What a vital, humane, kind genius the world has lost. Knowing how many lives he’s changed makes it even more tragic.

Probably Ad Nauseum too, which preceded it (Helen Nissenbaum, Daniel C. Howe, Mushon Zer-Aviv)? At least, that’s who I think of first in the by obfuscation/“hiding in plain sight” space.

I too loved the idea of a clean slate or a reset button. Hopefully with all the good things about the right to be forgotten and none of its challenges.

Such a pleasure to moderate an engaged, knowledgable group on the specific use case of for reuniting with families. Very nuanced and rich discussion, a lot of unanimous agreement and where it wasn’t, it was interesting and enriching. Thanks, .

Reading academic articles about the field in which you work is like listening in on a bizarro parallel conversation. They repeat things you and your colleagues said years earlier, but can't / won't cite them because journals confer all the pixie dust.
