The Haralson trade/salary dump is a business decision made with an eye toward the big contract(s) that the 49ers know are coming.

Teams can roll over salary cap space. Big-money 49ers with deals set to expire after 2014 season: Kaepernick, Aldon Smith, Iupati, Crabtree.

are those players in order of priority for a new deal?

Have you considered not extending Crabtree pending the results from the WRs this year? I have a faint recollection...

...of you addressing it in a mailbag maybe when you mentioned Crab being tough to re-sign (held out as a rookie, etc.).

Haralson's reworked contract seemed like a great value, though. Difference between that and rookie min small.

he's lowest priority. This team treats WRs as commodities.

I never thought Crabtree would re-sign with the 49ers. Kaepernick taking over at QB though has caused me to alter my stance.

What do you mean roll over cap space? $ saved this year can make the cap bigger next?

can they keep all of them?

Dunno. It's a hard read. Something tells me Crabs follows Deion Sanders route to Dallas.

Crabtree wont resign. Keep Iupati, Kaep and Smith. Let Michael walk.

the 10 Mil plus Michael will want better spent elsewhere.

u think the niners get a discount on crabtree b/c of his injury?

I agree. Very hard read. But I think with a new stadium, and hot QB, it'll be tough for him to find a better scene.

I agree on making those three a priority, especially if some of these younger WRs emerge in this first half.

we need to keep our core talent so if that what it takes, I don't mind. .

what's the most the patriots have ever paid for a receiver? Case and point.
