If it helps, one of my kids failed Iowa Basic Skills twice and the school was just like, well, we can’t all be smart. He ended up with a graduate degree from Stanford and has a great career in science. Sometimes it’s just bad—or insufficiently individual—teaching. Anxiety sucks.

...I’m sure you know this already and have been trying to light that old fire. Any chance of finding a disability specialist outside the system?

Ugh, I’m sorry! I only know my own experience as an adult literacy tutor who also ended up tutoring kids: they have to catch fire by finding something they’re desperate to read. Once kids love reading, they DO read (provided there’s no oddity like that color deficit). But...

It’s a toss-up as to whether or wins the Clueless Idiot of the Morning prize. But I think Brent wins. Looks like he deleted this tweet but is doubling down on a different, equally stupid one.

The actions of this President are beyond the pale. We are at a vital crossroads in our history and I refuse to say silent. Perhaps if more elected Republicans stated the obvious, I wouldn’t need to talk but sadly we aren’t there yet. In the meantime, I will keep talking.

No identification of any disability? Have never forgotten finding out that a kid was missing a color in his eyes that made it seem as if words were falling off pages. His mom said, “you mean everyone doesn’t see that?” Geez—generations. And all it took was a color transparency.

Hang in there. You’re obviously a good mom, so disregard whatever was hurtful. Was there some constructive stuff you can focus on?

Remember Sondland telling Amb. Yovanovitch that she needed to tweet something nice to Trump? What a ship of corrupt and self-involved fools.
