Mainly the chip I‘d say. A 7nm chip isch about 40% more efficient than 10nm. The iPhone XS has the first 7nm chip in any smartphone. On top of that, Apple made the four efficiency cores even more efficient.

maybe its (up to 40%), its also up to 30 minutes more than last year x. on screen on time i think its less than 30 minutes, mkbhd on review xs its about 4.5hours , same last year x.

Yeah, I‘m not saying that the battery improved a whole lot. But stand by time is definitelly better which is important for a whole day, since you’re not 100% on the phone, so stand by time matters a lot. But screen on time will be very comparable I think.
