Moreover, CPB funds a lot more than just NPR. And, as others in this thread have noted, taxpayers can’t just opt out of the parts of the budget they don’t like/ agree with (though, in this particular case, not sure one would notice even if one could and did).

Not for nothin’, but the point of the Senate is that each state has equal representation in it (that was the deal); the other side of the coin (or Capitol Building?) is the House of Representatives, which _is_ proportional to population. That should be a check on power, right?

I want to use this pic of your face with that expression to replace every sad emoji I’ve ever typed. Is that weird?

TFW when you actually stop to count the number of devices you have to put in airplane mode after they close the boarding door.

I wouldn’t say outdated: I get tons of valuable information from books, including ref mat’l for tech that _should_ be on the ash heap, but I’ve switched from hard copy to a digital subscription from a certain publisher so I can always look at the latest stuff.

Did he get the traditional Fire Truck Water Cannon Salute approaching the gate? Was on a flight w/ retiring captain recently and this is [apparently] the traditional send off (but maybe not practical at every airport).

Found this interview interesting because Senator Rubio’s argument— and the argument of others— seems to be that the ends justify the means, that POTUS’s fitness to govern does not matter as long as Congressional Rs can move their agenda.

No kidding: I’ve had “polymath” in various resumés and bios for a really long time in the sincere hope that someone would call me out on it (which is exactly what it deserves). No one ever has 😔

Very much this☝️ I travel more than a little for work and it _is_ draining. It also exactly what I signed up for/ negotiated w/ fam + am comp’ed fairly for. There is something a little weird about getting a vacation that I can afford for free b/c I have a good job.

did something change recently with the convention of noting trail segment lengths/ distances on your maps? Just picked up my first ever Trails Illustrated Map without such markings and I miss them.

That was a lot of fun. Sadly, no Summer Camp for me this year, but glad to hear is on the mend.
