While in town, you should consider trying to find this restaurant where Doc Hopper is apparently executive chef and... I don’t know... how do you confront the villain from an movie?

I disagree: the shape of the current mask is such that, when properly used, it molds to the shape of the face. Why do we think that people will be better off if— under stress— they will need to find the “this side up” notch? Maybe I’ve just listened to too many safety briefings.

Man, if this turns out to be the basis for Ocean’s 8, I am going to be super disappointed.

Not for nothin’, but to all the Ayn Rand conservatives out there it’s worth noting that this is exactly what happened w/ Jim Taggart, Orren Boyle, and company. Also exactly why John Galt talked Francisco d’Anconia and Ragnar Danneksjold into the strike. This, right here👇

Are you still the data owner if you have voluntarily surrendered the information? What recourse does a data custodian have when an authorized user misrepresents their use of the data? I sure TOS try to address questions like this, but answers are not immediately clear.

The Facebook / Cambridge Analytica flap ( _NOT_ breach) has me thinking back to textbook definitions of “data owner” and “data custodian” and whether we fully grasp them in the context of modern computing. Definitely clear that lines are much blurrier now.

If this seems a little off, it’s because I wrote it _before_ Meltdown and Spectre were disclosed. Who knew CPUs would be the sleeper threat of 2018? So many processors, so much attack surface...

Wondering what thinks about this appraisal but also wondering if, like us, he has the source material in his permanent library for comparison.
