did something change recently with the convention of noting trail segment lengths/ distances on your maps? Just picked up my first ever Trails Illustrated Map without such markings and I miss them.

That was a lot of fun. Sadly, no Summer Camp for me this year, but glad to hear is on the mend.

Well, that isn’t really in bear country per se. And it’s my contention that people should be ready for that eventuality in any case. You know the old advice about wearing clean underwear in case you’re in a car accident? Same idea.

P.S. while I am getting to the crusty old age where some might accuse me of having , you know that you learned to put trash where it belongs by kindergarten. In the back country, that means back in the bag you brought it in. /3, fin

I don’t like to rely on things that rely on batteries and/ or radio waves in the backcountry, but how the hell did I get topo maps before I could go to a website to pick the quad(s)?

Had a conversation along similar lines w/ but the idea was less Peace Keepers and more Fire Brigade (i.e. incident response as a public service, could be pros and/ or volunteers). Insofar as protecting digital is almost as important as physical, isn’t this logical?

OH: “We think the bulk of those are firewalls that are functioning, we just don’t know what site they’re supposed to be associated with?” 😬

TIL: If you’re a retiring commercial pilot, they greet your final flight with a water cannon salute from fire trucks. How fun is that?

Media usually relies on you for InfoSec wisdom, but two talking heads discussing Jordan vs. LeBron right now and I feel like your voice is missing.
