In this age of equality can all agree there’d be plenty of vocal support from both sexes for a female politician of any party in the same *situation*, on the cusp of becoming Prime Minister? As long as she didn’t have a drink on the train obviously.

A final word on Mark Field: To those asking me what I would do if someone yelled things at me in a room - I’m a comedian. I have been heckled dozens of times and managed not to grab them by the neck. And yes, any one of them could also have had a weapon. Now fuck off.

It's amazing how men who"react instinctively" in assaulting women are so much better at restraining themselves when faced with a man twice their size.

I share your pain. I know there were no jagerbombs, and was in bed by 23.00, I can only blame an overly-enthusiastic embrace of the wine bottle, from an early-out-of-traps 17.15 start. Sigh.

This is a great article by - when your chance of success depends more on unearned wealth (inheritance, house price inflation, wealthy parent safety net) rather than talent and hard graft, wealth, rather than income, inequality needs to be addressed

I am still going for “nobody thought him capable, and he wasn’t”. Would be delighted to be proved wrong on the latter point.

A real privilege to meet Richard outside the Iranian Embassy today. A brave man with an incredibly important campaign. Iran must listen as he is not going to go away.

1/3 The wonderful just talked about cyberflashing in the House!❤️ She told MPs: "A teenage girl if she walks down the street and a man flashes his mac at her, that's illegal. It shouldn't be legal to send that same teenage girl a photo via AirDrop in a public place."
