We may be relegated to closets and bathroom stalls, but breastfeeding is powerful and amazing. Here it is celebrated in all its glory.

Thanks for using data to show how bias affects female patients with ACS : more likely to have sx’s attributed to other dz, less likely to get PCI, more likely to have MACE, do better when treated by female physicians

My patients face countless barriers to addiction tx, including: finding an x-waivered provider, high-costs for office-based inductions, cumbersome and non-evidence-based rules for continued tx, pre-authorizations, & pharmacies refusing to fill their suboxone prescriptions

“It should be an outrage that due to cumbersome and restrictive regulations, it's still harder to prescribe methadone or buprenorphine for tx of opioid addiction than it is to prescribe the painkillers that exposed so many”

⁩ advisory from September 2017. Benzos/sedatives not absolute contraindication to buprenorphine. Use risk/benefit analysis. Risk of untreated opioid abuse may outweigh risk of co-prescribing in this instance.

The idea with 32mg is that the effect lasts longer and perhaps helps more with severe withdrawal

Houston Fire Dept identifies patients who have overdosed/ needed Narcan to potentially enroll in program. Also HFD follows up on pts. They've been doing outreach for awhile, predating us. They've even gone to seach for homeless addicts. They are doing amazing community outreach.
