I urge all Muslims to use the Ramadan fast to build harmony with fellow citizens of other faiths. We must uphold the values of tolerance and mutual coexistence, and leave no room whatsoever for hatred and violence. I pray for Allah’s continued peace & progress for Nigeria.

Each one of the piers is the equivalent of an 18 storey building in the ground and there are about 1,000 - 1,300 workers hard at work to bring the project to a reality. It is the firm commitment of President that this project be completed as quickly as it can.

The Second Niger Bridge is very important for the economy of the South-East and the Nigerian economy as a whole. I had the privilege of visiting the bridge from the Asaba end. The fascinating thing as we were told by the engineers is how much work goes into just the piling.

I met with the President of United Nations General Assembly, Maria Fernanda Espinaso, today. We discussed the humanitarian situation in the Northeast, & the state of Lake Chad, among other issues. Nigeria will continue to welcome every form of international support in the region.

The recharging of the Lake Chad is a priority for us, and we would like Qatar’s support, as it is not a project that the concerned countries can handle alone. Recharging the lake will bring back fishing, farming, animal husbandry, and help tackle insurgency and illegal migration.

I was pleased to welcome the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Abuja, on his first visit to Nigeria. There are many areas in which Nigeria and Qatar can cooperate — oil and gas, power, aviation, agriculture, education, and others.

I rejoice with all Nigerians, especially our Christian brethren, on the occasion of the celebration of Easter 2019. This season represents God’s redemptive mission over humanity, the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair and good over evil:

The military has restored calm to the affected areas, and will not relent. The National Emergency Management Agency and the National Commission for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons will also scale up their efforts in bringing succour to all the displaced people.

Once we abandon reason and good judgement, we‘re giving violence the chance to take over and make a bad situation more complicated, and difficult to resolve. The primary initiative for ending violence once and for all must originate from the local actors involved in these clashes.

The recent violent clashes between Jukuns and Tivs in Taraba State, and the Fulani, Genjon and Bachama in Adamawa State are needless and saddening. Violence cannot be the solution to the resolution of misunderstandings among people.

I signed the New National Minimum Wage Bill into Law today at the State House, eight years after the last review. I would like to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to this very important task, and reiterate our commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians.

It gladdens our hearts to see the progress being made by the young women rescued from Boko Haram. We celebrate their courage & determination to defy the evil ideology of the terrorists, by continuing to pursue their education. There is no doubt that the world is inspired by them.

We will never give up on our missing daughters, including Leah Sharibu; and all the other people held hostage by Boko Haram. In the last four years our security agencies have successfully rescued thousands of captives, and they will not relent until every captive is free.

Today marks five years since the abduction of our Chibok daughters. We have succeeded in bringing back 107 of them, but we will not rest until all the remaining girls are back and reunited with their families. I made this promise when I became President, and I will keep it.

The situation in the North West is a priority for us. We will bring an end to the banditry and insecurity. We are also tackling illegal mining, as well as seriously addressing the underlying issues responsible for the clashes between farmers and herders.

I seize every available opportunity to explain to Nigerians our situation in 2015, when we came to office; where we are today; and what we have been able to do with the resources available to us. We will continue to administer the resources of Nigeria honestly and productively.
