Yesterday evening our students who went to Malawi this summer gave a presentation to describe everything they had been involved in during their fortnight away. It was very inspirational and humbling to hear just how much they had all taken from their experience.

Luton Modern School was renamed Luton Grammar School in 1944. The institution remained until 1966 when the town’s education system went comprehensive - with Luton Sixth Form College created on the site. We’ve been here ever since, albeit it looking a bit different nowadays!

“Your school is beautiful this morning. Keep it beautiful and don’t do anything to tarnish it.” That is what Alderman Harry Arnold said to 417 boys 80 years ago today - 15th September 1938 - as Luton Modern School’s new home in Bradgers Hill Road opened for the first time.
