If you are a manager and are uncomfortable mentoring, working personally with, or socializing with any direct report, you need to quit. You are harming the organization and the employees.

Chik-Fil-A is definitely on the wrong side of history, but this headline is a gross mischaracterization of what was actually said. Hyperbole doesn’t help the cause.

^ thank you ^ This really isn't a matter of opinion. The last two seasons have been objectively different, because they have been undeniably rushed.

I've found that most American Christians don't bother to consider the messy and dangerous gray areas of their beliefs. But there are so many gray areas, everywhere. And where there are gray areas, there are abusers. Alabama is a terrifying case study.

Hate-for-profit works only if there’s profit, so Fox News balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies with enough legit journalism to make the claim to advertisers that it’s a reputable news outlet. It’s all about dragging in ad money—big ad money.

Got it. Yeah, CBT didn't work at all when I was in my own maelstrom, but when I was ready to come out, it really helped get me back to a productive place quickly. Wish you all the luck and success (and creativity) in the world!

If you haven't looked into cognitive behavioral therapy, that REALLY helped me jumpstart my brain / get motivated to create again. You don't even necessarily have to go see a cognitive behavioral therapist. There are simple rules to follow that are based on our brains' biology.

I went a few years without writing for myself, too. Still coming out of that today. Rest assured, when you do start writing music again, it will be that much more powerful because of that inner work.

Whether this community was moved directly by or not, it felt like the kind of moment that she spent her life fighting for. Now, it’s our turn to take up that cross. So many, it seems, already have.

At one point, they invited the church’s LGBTQ+ members to administer communion. It was beautiful. I was a complete mess.

From intellectual interviews to emotionally charged Q&A’s to stripped down and inclusionary worship, they relentlessly defended their position— That the LGBTQ+ community is loved and affirmed by their creator.

What followed was one of the most authentic and intentional “church” services I’ve ever been to. I put quotes around the word because church so rarely feels that way.

Long story short, I ended up attending a service the Sunday after the global had voted against affirmation. As I walked in, I noticed that the words “United Methodist” were covered up on the church’s exterior signs.

I also had never really looked into the theology of the United Methodist Church before. All I knew was that there has been major internal division about the affirmation of LGBTQ+ Christians. Maybe that drew me in too?
