Over the past few weeks I've said quite a few times that AFAIK difficulty options have been a thing in games since Taito's Speed Race in 1974. Not true. See Bertie The Brain, strong candidate for first recorded example of an electronic game, from 1950.

I'll admit...it feels a little weird sharing this, but I'm trying to get comfortable sharing my thoughts like this, and getting over that endless voice that tells me "Don't share this. Nobody cares what you think." I care. Screw you, voice.

After reading Jack Urwin's book "Man Up: Surviving Modern Masculinity", (particularly the soldier PTSD bits) I felt the need to work out some thoughts in one of the first poems I've ever written: "You Brought That War Back Home With You"

There's no way way round it. If you want your game to be accessible, you have to put in the time to get it right for your game.

The audio boys have found some new toys. What worries me is Haydn rocking a mounted machine gun without even blinking...

Thank you very much to and for hosting. It was great to talk to your students and hear how far ahead they are in recognising accessibility concerns in games. 🙂 A great sign for the future.

New read: Ozymandias by Percy Shelley: This poem isn't usually shouted, but my rationale is this: You don't taunt God in a hushed whisper, you bellow until the gates of Heaven are shaking. Also...I'm doing this for fun :)
