Agreed. When I was young the options weren't available. Now every young person with cancer should be offered the chance of preserving their fertility where possible. There shouldn't be anyone in your situation purely due to lack of knowledge/protocols/funds.It's heartbreaking :(

If you can also help improve someone’s quality of life as well as save their life you should especially if more survive cancer or it becomes a chronic condition. Someone like myself shouldn’t have to be pointing this out! It should be in their protocols and

It’s sad if you have money you can choose to wait and preserve your fertility with nhs or just go private. Some young people aren’t that lucky, let alone be told about fertility preservation or techniques/surgeries that could move ovaries out the way etc before cancer treatments.

That shouldn’t be a postcode lottery and those with financial means are more likely to go private if they feel nhs isn’t doing quick enough but the other patients will just lose out just because they or their parents don’t have money at that particular time in their life.

This is what we should be doing in the UK for our young people with cancer especially those who don’t have the financial means or health professionals who won’t tell them about fertility options or get nhs funded fertility preservation for them.
