Between cheap high quality IP cameras, high quality night mode on cell phones, and always on body cams there’s going to be a lot of after the fact opportunities to figure out what really happened.

He’s wearing a body cam. FOIA requests are going to get a lot of tape handed over when this is all said and done.

When your TCO discussion is a sales presentation or a whiteboard? Easy. When it’s a month to month reality that you own SLAs for? A bit more real. It’s shaping roadmaps and feature design.

Rather than piecemeal update the guidance, and direct people to a large algebra function, we’ve been to a degree sandbagging a lot of smaller improvements into the previous releases and well as working on future with the goal of any update increasing simplicity of this overhead.

We’ve done a few things to make that 30% slack space go from a slightly conservative to a very conservative number (especially on larger clusters). That said there is more to do...

This is a multi-part problem. The need for empty space requirement is a function of cluster node count, how rebuilds and rebalance work and failure tolerance. Also thin provisioning and future usage isn’t always 100% predicable (different protection policies, unmap, dedupe)

Going to lend itself to lower economic segment, and the elderly. Also, cheap/free child care.
