On This day in 1829 Junction Dock, now known as Princes Quay was opened. This dock was renamed Princes Dock in 1854 in honour of Prince Albert, who accompanied Queen Victoria on a royal visit to Hull in 1854. In 1968 it was redeveloped into a shopping centre.

A wonderful, talented ‘one-off’ of a public servant totally deserving such comment from Hulls First Citizen, as well as the honour from the Queen. Not too shabby for a Shipping Clerk eh MJ!?!

What a brave young man such a positive attitude. If these were normal times I would invite you and your family into the Parlour for afternoon tea. I’m sure it will happen one day Max.

This is the Alec-Smith Steeple Cup. The inside of the cup are guilt the flat domed cover supports a fluted steeple with a finial in the form of a circular saw as a reference to the donor’s family (Lord Mayor Rupert Alec Smith) connection with the timber and saw milling industry.

Mr Riaz is one of the UK's most respected cosmetic, plastic & reconstructive surgeons is a great friend of Hull Resettlement’s Rawling Way site. Twice a week Mr Riaz & his lovely wife being the residents home cooked food. Today’s dish was very popular with the residents
