The AQA one we have is the same, my students enjoy finding and correcting the mistakes though!

You can’t or incorrectly.....but the more important question is why would you ever use a normal approximation 🤔

This has come up with other topics and they’ve said they have interpreted the guidelines differently. For example when using normal approx Edexcel use continuity corrections but AQA don’t so there are still small variations in topics.

They have been working on a revised teacher guidance but it’s not been realised yet. They sent me a screenshot of a section for a previous question I had.

I feel like I’ve asked about this before and they said it wasn’t on but I’ll have a search through my emails as I may well be making this up!

I just presumed it was another point where the exam boards had interpreted the guidelines differently. AQA has never examined it in the past but Edexcel always have 🤔 I’ve not included it in our SoW at the moment so clarification would be good!

Any know which old spec modules simple and damped harmonic motion was on? Doesn’t matter which board just on the hunt for exam questions and I’ve never taught it before, thanks 🙂

I’ve used ones for the old SS3 AQA but just added in the critical values. It’s such a stupid test when you dont have to calculate the critical value or test stat 🤦‍♀️

Officially we are grade 7 but have 6’s and even two 5’s 🙈. Target grades are all A*-C so even though I think it’s a great achievement for some students to get a E/D the data for classes is badly affected.

Our mocks were very depressing, lots of students sturuggling to get to 30% 👎

I nearly jumped ship in Sept too and now I’m scared staying with aqa was the wrong choice 😬

I used to like playing this at the start of game theory - takes a while though! I think shared it a few years ago

Yep 👍 the joys of sixth form budgets. We increased teaching load by almost 3.5hrs a week this year but obviously results should improve 😳

Technically 30hrs per week as we have 6 blocks but everyone gets on early finish so 25/28.75 really. I do 23hrs as HoD

In theory yes but in reality I’m drowning in work at the moment. I could maybe get some done next half term 🤔

4 subjects is now the max and most of those are further maths students. We’ve been able to keep three classes per year at the moment plus we have an AS Further class in year 13 for those who only took maths but want to pick it up.
