Ames has a low tax rate when compared to districts in StoryCounty and the metro, and the school portion of taxes won't go up as a result of this project. April 3 is an opportunity to address the concerns of the current HS (school security), without impacting taxpayers.

Whoa Ames, Fresh Thyme, and customers, you really did it! At the end of the 3-week round up campaign, your donations totaled $7,753, all of which will go toward the District's negative lunch balance. We cannot express our appreciation enough for your generosity!

The Supreme Court stated that both were constitutional according to Cochran V Louisiana State Board of Ed (textbooks and the 14th Amendment) and Everson v Board of Education (transportation and the First Amendment). Wait for the different tests developed for decisions after this.

This is so critical. We have to remember that our teachers are human beings. The more we build relationships with each other, the stronger the culture.

A1: I love the idea of listening sessions. I'm wondering how we could expand these as a regular part of doing business in schools?

We end each of our IC meetings with celebrations, shout outs, marigolds or lollipops. We never leave a meeting on a negative note.

Six weeks from today, on April 3, we will vote on a bond referendum and the future of Ames High. The bond language also includes remodeling and renovations to 3 elementary schools, and some have wondered why? It’s a great question with an easy answer: enrollment.
