Not sure but vagal stimulation holds lots of promise but needs lots more studies to understand appropriate stimulation parameters, duration, etc.

When I mention to my kids, their response: “Just no” Perhaps I need to partner with someone with more of a cool factor. - is your cool factor strong enough carry my lack of? 😂😂😂

Thanks. Though if they’re anything like my children, I may have to figure out TicTok or make videos 🙄 Seriously, hoping Viet parents will encourage their children to go into academics. Right now, private practice is more desired with a more supportive community

We often talk about the leaky pipeline. This one leaks but after med school. We need more Vietnamese professors in academics so our youth see that it can be done and it’s something to strive for. So if you’re a fellow Nguyen in academics

I get so excited when I see another Nguyen (or any Vietnamese person) in academics. Even when it’s just a consult note. Lots of Vietnamese docs just so few in academia. Why? You can’t be what you can’t see.

on diversity and inclusion (thread) Growing up in Orange County, wasn’t unusual to see H.S. yearbooks with pages of “Nguyens”. The numbers dwindled the further I traveled in academia. Only 1 conference in 15 years where another Nguyen was on stage.

I was thinking the same thing. Where are the women. I know of lots of stellar academic women in pain.

Promising but we need definitive studies so that the therapies are not cost prohibitive to our patients

There’s also some evidence that vitamin D may help with some digestive disorders
